EARLY BIRD PRICING- $45 before October 10, 2026!

ADHD and Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), are often addressed separately despite overlapping experiences involving attention, executive functioning, mood, sleep, energy, metabolic health, menstrual functioning, and pain. This two-hour interdisciplinary workshop examines the intersection of ADHD and PMOS through neurodiversity-affirming, whole-body, and person-centered frameworks. Participants will examine how hormonal and metabolic processes may influence the presentation of ADHD, including changes in attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and functioning across the menstrual cycle.

The course will also review current approaches to PMOS symptoms, diagnosis, medical and integrative treatment, and emerging research regarding the relationship between PMOS and neurodivergence. Particular attention will be given to the executive functioning demands involved in managing chronic health conditions, medical dismissal and shame, PMOS-associated pain, emerging research on cannabis and chronic pain, and practical strategies for creating more accessible treatment plans. Participants will also learn approaches to self-advocacy, shared decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and building affirming healthcare teams.

This course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Professionals licensed in other states, individuals in other professions, and international participants may be able to use the certificate of completion toward their continuing education or professional development requirements. Participants are responsible for verifying acceptance of the course and certificate with their applicable licensing or professional board, state or jurisdiction, and/or country.

What Will You Learn?

  • Increase participants’ knowledge of the relationships among ADHD, menstrual health, hormonal functioning, metabolic health, and PMOS.
  • Increase participants’ ability to conceptualize ADHD and PMOS through an integrated brain-body framework rather than treating cognitive, emotional, reproductive, and metabolic symptoms as isolated concerns.
  • Strengthen participants’ use of neurodiversity-affirming approaches when supporting individuals with ADHD and chronic health conditions, particularly by considering executive functioning capacity, shame, medical trauma, and accessibility of treatment recommendations.
  • Increase participants’ ability to support collaborative healthcare through informed self-advocacy, shared decision-making, appropriate interdisciplinary referral, and communication between mental health and medical providers.
